Meet the Executive Team, whose vision makes this all possible

Levent Ozkurt is the Chief Executive Officer of the company, the President, and Treasurer.  He also serves as the current Chairman of the Board. Mr. Ozkurt has a strong background in NY real estate, proven experience leading successful companies, and a passion for philanthropy. 

At the age of 21, he founded his first successful company, Citiwide Exterminating, Inc. In 1997, he founded a second company, Pro Construction, that handles interior renovations in NYC. Mr. Ozkurt’s  real estate knowledge comes from hands-on experience, including his years spent as a NYS Real Estate Salesperson, and later as a NYS Real Estate Broker. He also worked for Vornado Realty Trust (a commercial REIT) as a field supervisor. 

Because of his commitment to understanding the industry inside and out, Mr. Ozkurt also completed the Property Management Program at the Real Estate Institute of New York University (2007 graduate). Mr. Ozkurt also manages a private portfolio of commercial and residential investment properties, and is actively involved in several development projects. 

Philanthropy is important to Mr. Ozkurt, who serves with multiple organizations dedicated to helping children and fighting world poverty. This includes the Shriners Hospital for Children - Philadelphia, where he serves on the board of governors, chairman of the marketing and communications committee, and a member of the medical committee. Mr. Ozkurt is also a Trustee and former board member of the Rotary Club of New York, and a co-founder of Brothers Without Borders.

Brian Lewis is the Vice-President, Chief Investment Officer of the Company, and Chief Operating Officer. He also serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Board of the companyMr. Lewis has a strong background with decades of experience and dedication to the industry.

Mr. Lewis became a licensed Real Estate Broker in 1978. He earned a degree in Public Accounting, Finance, and Law from New York University and is a recipient of the Hayward Holbart Memorial Award for academic excellence. He was elected to Areopagus, the Pre-Law Honorary Fraternity. Mr. Lewis did graduate work in Federal Taxation at Pace University and at New York University School of Real Estate. He earned the designation of Certified Property Manager from IREM in 1979.

Mr. Lewis directed Langsam's Asset Management team. He has also served as a Senior Asset Manager with a leading Wall Street underwriter, where he supervised a major East Coast portfolio. Mr. Lewis was credited with the successful drug abatement and revitalization of their Florida portfolio, as well as major properties in New York State. In 1994, he was cited by the NYPD for his work in reclaiming a drug-infested property in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. He has been involved in similar anti-drug and anti-crime projects in Washington Heights, Manhattan Valley, and other areas. Mr. Lewis has been credited with saving one of the last affordable complexes in the North Bronx.

In the early 1990s, Mr. Lewis served as Chief Operating Officer for one of New York's most prestigious privately-owned companies. They are developers and owners of luxury high-rise properties in Manhattan. In April 1999, he was presented with a "Hero's Award" by the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development for his outstanding results with limited financial resources. He also received recognition from the NYPD Honor Legion in November 1999, for his work in drug abatement and crime control.

Community involvement is another one of Mr. Lewis’s strengths. He serves on the Board of Directors for Lehman College, Center for Performing Arts, and is a member of the Bronx District Attorney's Crime Victim's Assistance Unit. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Bronx Manhattan Association of Realtors and currently sits on the Board of Governors of the Bronx Realty Advisory Board.

Anthony P. Ruffini is the Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary for the company, and the Advisor.  He is responsible for all company legal matters, and is also deeply involved in its strategic initiatives; including real estate transactions; securities and capital markets; corporate governance; and continuity of operations. Mr. Ruffini is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as federal courts, including the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, the U.S. Court of International Trade, and the U.S. Tax Court. Mr. Ruffini attended Saint John’s University and New York Law School, graduating both cum laude. 

In 2011, Mr. Ruffini was named the first Regional Counsel for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in New York City.  He was the principal legal advisor and part of the executive leadership team that supervised execution of all phases of FEMA operations in Region II (which includes New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands).  Mr. Ruffini led a dynamic legal team providing solutions-oriented, articulate, and timely legal advice and counsel, while acting as the legal counsel to the Regional Administrator.  He also led legal operations prior to, during, and in the aftermath of Hurricanes Maria and Lee, and Superstorm Sandy. Mr. Ruffini also served in the United States Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve as a commissioned officer for approximately 10 years.

RICK ELEZI serves as a Board Member of the company.  Mr. Elezi is the president and founder of R.E.M. Residential. He has an extensive real estate background, with a concentration in the residential real estate management sector in New York City.

Mr. Elezi’s interest in real estate began when he worked as porter, handyman, and doorman for several luxury buildings in Manhattan, while he attended high school and college. The work piqued his interest in the exciting opportunities available in real estate. 

While earning his Bachelor’s degree in  Finance and Business Management at Iona College, Mr. Elezi also worked his way up to on-site manager for a luxury building. He went on to hold senior property management positions at Lawrence Properties and several other respected firms. In these roles he efficiently managed a diverse portfolio of assets that included residential, retail, and co-op properties. 

In 2004, he was recognized by his peers in the industry and named Property Manager of the Year by the Scandinavian-American Building Managers Guild. In that same year, R.E.M. Residential received the Trailblazer of the Year Award from NYARM. R.E.M. Residential went on to be named NYARM’s 2016 Property Management Company of the Year, and received the 2017 SiteCompli Pioneer Award, which is given to companies who spearhead innovation across their organization, including the use of technology. In 2019, R.E.M. Residential was awarded “Property Management Company of the Year” by The New York Building Managers Association.

Mr. Elezi is actively involved in numerous professional organizations including CHIP, NYARM, SABMG, and REBNY.

A.J. Rexhepi serves as a Board Member of the company. Mr. Rexhepi is a Partner and Vice President of Century Management Services, Inc.  As a member of Century’s leadership team, A.J. is responsible for oversight of all operations, new construction budgeting and development, business procurement, and capital budgeting.

Mr. Rexhepi’s career in property management spans over 20 years, during which his dedication and strong work ethic has led him from an entry-level Account Executive to Vice President and equity partner at one of NYC’s premier and long-standing third-party residential management firms.  

His expertise in helping developers and investors get ground-up luxury and amenity-filled developments ready for occupancy has included working with Toll Brothers City Living, The Carlyle Group, and The Rockefeller Group. His work has also been instrumental to the success and growth of Century Management Services, Inc.

Mr. Rexhepi holds an undergraduate degree from Fordham University, is a member of The Real Estate Board of New York, and is an avid supporter of several of NYC’s premier Resident Manager organizations.  He is also a dedicated philanthropist, supporting many charities, including Happy Faces and The Ronald McDonald House NY.

Alan Pearlstein serves as a Board Member of the company. Alan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Hofstra University. Starting out as a senior property manager for First Service Residential, his dedication, knowledge, and hard work led him to his current position of general manager within the company. He has designed strategies and contributed to the growth of the company. Prior to working with First Service Residential, he was a senior property manager for The Argo Corp.

While working with both real estate management companies over the last 19 years, he has overseen the operations for a portfolio of cooperatives, condominiums, rental apartment complexes, hotels, and commercial properties. Mr. Pearlstein has prepared annual budgets, worked with the Real Estate Advisory Board and unions, obtained financing, and supervised a large staff of employees. The guidance and counseling to various boards in areas of finance, legal matters, facilities operations, and staff are immeasurable.

Alan has overseen a variety of major capital improvements and development projects. Alan also owns and manages his own commercial, residential, and vacation properties. Alan believes in giving back to the community by being involved in philanthropy. He is associated with City Meals on Wheels, UJA Federation, and the Met Council.
