US Real Estate Investment Trust, Inc., is a newly-formed Maryland corporation that was formed on January 29, 2020, that intends to qualify as a real estate investment trust, or REIT, beginning with the taxable year ending December 31, 2021, which may be extended to the taxable year ending December 31, 2022, in the sole discretion of the board of directors of the Company. US Real Estate Investment Trust, Inc. is a private, non-exchange traded REIT with a directive to invest in residential, commercial, and industrial real estate in US Treasury-certified Opportunity Zones. The REIT’s management team will focus on building a diversified real estate portfolio in Opportunity Zones. The REIT intends to focus on the development of new projects and substantial redevelopment of existing ones, including multifamily and industrial. However, until the REIT has raised substantial proceeds and achieved substantial scale, it may be limited in the number and size of acquisitions it makes. US REIT is available only to accredited investors and offers an investor-friendly structure with mandatory distributions.
